Books

So I shall be blogging about books. If you love books and reading, then read on. If you hate books and reading, still read on because maybe this will convince you how awesome books are.

Books I am currently reading:
The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
This is a really good book about this boy who may or may not have some sort of social disorder (I don't know, but it seems like it) and it's just really good and yeah. I can't really say any more than that, only that it's really good.

Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell
This was a challenge from my mom because she couldn't read it all the way through and I kept telling her that it couldn't be that bad. It's a bunch of different short stories. The first one is about this guy that is on this island and I didn't understand most of the beginning of it. The second story, which is the one I'm on, I like because it has a bunch of music things that I understand and make me feel smart. So far, it's pretty good, but kind of confusing.

Books I bought at the bookstore today:
Well, I went to the bookstore today because they're closing down and everything was on sale. I bought three, or technically seven and a half, depending on how you look at it. I'll tell you more about that later.

First off: Looking For Alaska by John Green
John Green is a really awesome author. I read Paper Towns a few months ago, and loved it. To learn more about John Green you can go here and here.
Anyways, the description on the back of the book says: "BEFORE. Miles "Pudge" Haler is done with his safe life at home. His whole existence has been one big nonevent, and his obsession with famous last words has only made him crave the "Great Perhaps" (Francois Rabelais, poet) even more. He heads off to the sometimes crazy, possibly unstable, anything-but-boring world of Culver Creek Boarding School, and his life becomes the opposite of safe. Because down the hall is Alaska young. The gorgeous, clever, funny, sexy, self-destructive, screwed-up, and utterly fascinating Alaska Young who is an event unto herself. She pulls Pudge into her world, launches him into the Great Perhaps, and steals his heart. AFTER. Nothing is ever the same." Usually, I don't go for romance, but Paper Towns wasn't completely romance and I'm hoping that Looking for Alaska is the same. But even if it is, John Green is an amazing author, who can pull it off.

Will Grayson Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan
I honestly have no idea what this is about. None at all. But it was by John Green and it was there, so I bought it. And the cover looked cool.

This is what my copy looks like.
The Ultimate Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
This is all of the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy books in one cover plus an extra story. I read Hitchiker's Guide and loved it, and I saw it at the bookstore for $21.60 for the entire thing. That's $4.00 per book and $1.60 for the short story. I figured this was a huge deal. Anyways, it's basically a parody of Science Fiction, but you wouldn't really be able to tell. It features a character who lived on Earth right as it was being destroyed (I figured I could tell you this because it happens in the first few chapters.) and he and his alien friend catch a ride on a spaceship and go on an adventure.

So, yeah, those are my books.

Hello. I'm not really sure what this does. I hope it doesn't kill anything on here.
